January 26-29 – Apartment
“Sarah, How can 10 years pass so quickly? It seems like yesterday that we first discovered your sanctuary of nature. Even with our annual trips and occasional biannual visits it is always a welcome from our everyday world. Mountain Lauren Inn, Baxter and now Lickety, the falls, the trials-all being pleasant memories and have become friends. Whether it be a family getaway and making s’mores over your fire or celebrating birthdays or coming in hopes of being snowed or iced on-in which we are never disappointed. At your table, amidst your hospitality, we always enjoy the other visitors who have discovered this sanctuary on their journey through life.
As always, we enjoyed our stay in the apartment and treasure the time we shared together-no computers, no phone calls, no cats (they would love being there) to keep us warm at night and entertained. Last year we got ice, no snow, but could this year; maybe 2008 will bring the snow. Until we meet again-God Bless!” S & J Florence

“Sarah, We have enjoyed meeting you and staying at the apartment here at Mountain Laurel Inn! It is a wonderful and relaxing place to wind down and begin our 20 year anniversary celebration. The breakfast that you made this morning was delicious and the conversation enjoyable. You pay attention to details. We were furnished with everything needed for our stay, including the walking sticks for hiking. Thank you for your gracious hospitality. We hope to return in the future. The Lord bless you.” T & K

“Sarah, It was wonderful to be back after seven years! We first visited on our one year anniversary and have anticipated returning for a long time.
The hospitality, charm, and little details were just as nice as we remembered. Also, it was so great to have another one of your fabulous breakfasts! Congratulations on making it into the “100 dishes…” brochure!
You truly have a gift and we thoroughly enjoy our time here in this beautiful place. We hope to return soon with our group!” J and J

“Dear Sarah, Thank you so much for your warm hospitality, great food, and beautiful retreat. The drive to Cloudland Canyon was just what we needed, since we had heard that there wouldn’t be a pretty fall this year. Our spirits are restored. Thanks to people like yourself, people like us have places to go where their dreams come true.” Nancy and Brian
“P.S. watching the rain in the woods from the rockers on the porch was a joy!”

“Dear Sarah, This has been fantastic to say the least. It started out at Little River Canyon Falls. It was breathtaking. Shopping in Cave Springs brought me back to childhood. Reminiscing about old times with Rip and Mr. Godfrey was quite the adventure! Then, to top it off, Sarah, you definitely exceeded my expectations. The little things mean so much. I take my hat off to you young lady for a job well done. 2008 will be great! I will let the next person who reads this in on a secret! ‘The Wildflower Café is Perfect.’ But keep it our secret. Happy New Year!” M

“Sarah, Wow! What can I say? Your bed and breakfast is wonderful. This was my first experience and we plan to do this many more times. Our room was great and the view was great from the porch. You have a fabulous place that you get to call home!
Breakfast was delicious (Hugh was looking for the “seconds” in the oven.☺) The coffee waiting outside was a great touch. Thank you for a great weekend. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and I can’t think of another way I’d want to spend it. May God bless you and the longevity of Mountain Laurel.” K and H

“Sarah, What a beautiful place you have. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we enjoyed it so much. Thank you for opening your home up for others to enjoy. You made us feel so welcome. Mike surprised me with this trip to celebrate our first anniversary. The flowers and other surprises made me so happy. Thank you for helping Mike with that. The breakfast each morning was awesome! This weekend getaway will always be special to me and Mike and we will be back! Thank you again for making this such a special weekend-May God continue to bless you” M and D P.S.

“Dear Sarah, We are pleased that we chose your place for our honeymoon. You are a great host and a blessing to be around. Thank you for your wonderful breakfast and taking such great care of us (even having a hairbrush ☺)! The room was pleasant and welcoming and even though it rained our first night here it was still a sight to behold. We now go forward to live our lives together. Maybe one day we will make it back to your heavens. Bless you always.” K and J

“Sarah, For my retirement for 30 years teaching 7th and 8th grade math, my daughters and their husbands gave me the bed and breakfast girt certificate. As I searched for where to go I came across the Mountain Laurel Inn—seemed just what I wanted—and it has been wonderful—We’ve had a busy summer and fall and were very ready to get away for a couple of nights. The leaves have been magnificent—much to our surprise with the drought-we enjoyed the falls, hiking and some shopping—just resting and spending time together! You are a fabulous hostess—coffee at seven is great! Thanks for sharing your gift of hospitality!” D and C

“Dear Sarah and Lickety Split, What a great getaway you have here! We enjoyed ourselves immensely! This is the freshest feeling space I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast was to die for. We recommend the strawberries and bananas and sour cream on the French toast, ‘Go eat at Windwood,’ says John, “and get the crab cakes! Peace and love” J and K
April – Wildflower
“Dear Sarah, This is a very nice bed and breakfast. We love the Wildflower room. I think my favorite part here was the breakfast—and riding the horses. Oh, and hiking. We want to come again with my sister and my dad. I think the bed was very comfortable. I love the games and movies. The chocolate fondue was yummy yummy!”
“Dear Lickety-Split, I love how you came up and met me. You do a perfect job as greeter and I hope you’re here for a long, long time. You are beautiful and your fur is very soft. This was a perfect spot for a mom-daughter weekend. We’ve had a wonderful time. Many thanks” K
