DeSoto Falls and the Bluff View Trail
Hiking around Mountain Laurel Inn is enjoyed by everyone that visits. Walks can be short and relaxing or long and adventurous. You can stroll to the raised herb beds or to the bluff overlooking Little River by the trail in front of the main house.
The ten minute walk in the woods to the overlook above DeSoto Falls is accessible to almost anyone. The hike to the bottom of the falls is a difficult hike and limited to experienced hikers.
“The Falls were astonishingly beautiful! We even saw a rainbow! We thank you for helping us create a lasting and magical memory.”
The Falls, named after Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto and formed where the West Fork of the Little River plunges off Lookout Mountain, creates one of the primary tributaries of the Little River. The 100′ tall falls is part of nearby DeSoto State Park.
